“In this unusual year of 2020, the OPD nursing team led by Susan has overcome difficulties and completed many arduous tasks. In the beginning of the epidemic situation, we had to adjust the layout and process of outpatient area. Susan took the lead to establish the new area and set up the new process timely. New workflow had also caused a shortage of staffing, Susan then worked on how to improve efficiency of the team, in the end ensured patient care effectively. In the Covid-19 nucleic acid testing, Susan’s team started this job first, and made a lot of efforts from the initial preparation and process improvement. Right after the most difficult period Susan accidentally fell and broke her arm. Because of the epidemic, we were not even allowed to visit her in the hospital, so we could only send her greetings remotely. As soon as she recovered she returned back to work. “Tiffany has worked as a senior nurse in GP ward for more than 6 years in Shanghai United Family Hospital. She works hard, takes the responsibility, very positive and progressive, with her power of action, she infects every staff who works with her.

In January 2020, Tiffany took over as the infection control nurse, during the handover period with former IC nurse, has not fully adapt to the job, the epidemic break out, under this serious situation, the responsibility of the infection control nurse is particularly severe. Except the routine work, Tiffany shuttles through the office, fever area, PCR test are and triage screen area, can be seen everywhere. She often works under high pressure and heavy workloads without complaining in order to meet the personalized service and urgent needs of the clinic. She does not just find ways to keep up with the demands but also creatively devises work flow improvement solutions.

During the epidemic period, Esther, along with other team members made great efforts to guarantee the safety of our medical staff and the daily operations of all of our facilities, despite a world-wide shortage of PPE and other medical consumable as well as the sudden instability of global supply chain channels. He has really grown as a clinician during his time with us - and he is a graduate of our EM programme, during which time he worked exceptionally hard and which shows real loyalty to UFH. During January and the early days of the pandemic, he demonstrated a very high professional standard and courage.
